Hello and welcome to grandchild number seven! Really! Angèle Julia Rose was born at 8am on 12th July in Nouméa, New Caledonia, which equates to 10pm on 11th July for England and 11pm on 11th July for France, where she will be living come August. Phew,...

REAL LOVE

In our freezer Sid has put half a loaf of white sliced bread. We don't eat white sliced bread, but Sid's son does, for his breakfast; the bread is 'in case he comes to visit unexpectedly'. That's not going to happen, but the bread will always be there...

LUNCH WITH THE CANADIANS

Today we had a visit from big bro and sis-in-law. We had a lovely meal at Prezzo's (how many points in a huge pizza?) and then a walk around and coffee back at the flat...lovely to see you bro, rendez-vous in December for Tasha's wedding.

BIG BRO

Yesterday, big bro flew in from Doha and came to little old Broadstairs to take his mum and sisters to lunch at the Dickens...he's just the same, irreverent, sharp, fun, and the matriarch was in her element with three of her four children around her....

WELCOME TO CHERBOURG

Good news! The L.family is moving to Cherbourg so we may well be seeing much more of them. Two hours 45 to Portsmouth, then three hours on the car ferry, it's a long way, but very doable. I'm really looking forward to long weekends away and sampling the...
