VANITY SIZING

Having dug out all my old clothes that were too small and raided the matriarch's wardrobe, I have noticed that sizes have expanded over the past ten years...the old size 14 waistbands are approximately 10cm smaller than they are today and the hips are...

MY IDEA OF HEAVEN

Last night I lost 3lb, bought a pair of shoes, and a handbag, and a pair of boots, and a top, and a belt, and a lovely poncho jumper AND I had a bar of chocolate on the way home...heaven....

WEIGHT WATCHERS WEEK 56

Minus the 1kg I put on last week...back to square one...this week I'm aiming for another kilo off, got to get to goal before Christmas, just think of all those lovely clothes I could buy

FASHION JUNKY

Getting to be a fashion junky since I've lost weight...I took golfer's son and daughter-in-law into Present Company when they were here last weekend and saw this.... I think I'm in love!

WEIGHT WATCHERS WEEK 55

Put on 1kg last week, that's why I didn't post it here...it's getting very hard to lose these last few kilos, I need incentive and I need exercise, that's why I've joined the gym again...not sure if I'm looking forward to it or not...got Natasha's wedding...

DEPTHS OF DESPOND

Not feeling good today, it's all getting too much. Got my notice on Tuesday and had a massive binge yesterday; tonight is weigh-in, it's not going to be good and all the stress is giving me vertigo, I even fell over in Matalan car park the other day,...

Today golfer was playing an away game in Canterbury and who should be paired up with him but fan-anne's ex husband! He can't understand why she's causing so much trouble, when she was with him she was a very quiet lady who never went out at night or made...

WHAT A WASTE OF TIME

Continuing the saga of the neighbour from hell, we have now received a letter from her solicitor to say that she has a right to go out at night and we should leave her alone as it's not her fault if the floors are thin...to be continued

WEIGHT WATCHERS WEEK 51

Minus 1kg 500g this week, yesssssssss! At this rate I will be at goal weight for Christmas and will buy myself a lovely dress to wear on Christmas Day. Wish me luck, I'm going in! Total loss 35½ kg

JULIE & JULIA

Makes you want to cook! Not sure how Julie Powell managed to cook all those recipes and not put on an ounce though...an unusual film, not very exciting, but entertaining. Meryl Streep, as always, was superb, what an actress!

Damn! Plus 500g this week, I get the impression that this last stone is going to be hard to lose... Funny how your brain readjusts to the way you look and changes your body image; I've rarely been slimmer than I am now and yet I'm beginning to feel fat...

Fan-anne called Pinnacle and complained about the picture on the landing; she said when she'd seen that picture of the man that she'd given to charity she'd been very upset...it was a picture of a bowl of flowers!!!???

LUNCH WITH THE CANADIANS

Today we had a visit from big bro and sis-in-law. We had a lovely meal at Prezzo's (how many points in a huge pizza?) and then a walk around and coffee back at the flat...lovely to see you bro, rendez-vous in December for Tasha's wedding.

Golfer and I wanted to smarten our new building up and obtained a budget of £50 for pictures from the freeholder, Pinnacle...so off we went to the charity shops in search of bargins. And there, a lovely picture for just £4.50 in the first shop we came...

DORIAN GRAY

I was looking forward to seeing this, having read the book and found Oscar Wilde to be a clever and enthrawling storyteller, but the film was a disappointment. Too dark, too lurid, too violent, too gory and with ridiculous special effects used to bring...
